ظهر برنامج الثانوية المتخصصة في ليبيا بهدف إعداد طلاب المرحلة الثانويـة وتجهيزهم لدخول الكليات المختلفة، وبشكل يضمن معرفة الكليـات التـي سـيلتحق بهـا الطلاب بناء على التخصص الذي تم دراسته في المرحلة الثانوية. ويتوقع من وراء تبنـي هذا النظام زياد كفاءة وفاعلية تعليم وتدريب الطالب في المرحلة الجامعية. وقد قطع برنامج الثانوية التخصصية في ليبيا شوطاً لا بأس به في مرحلة التعليم المتوسط، حيث بدأ تطبيق هذا النظام منذ ما يربوا عن عشر سنوات بعد الاسـتغناء عـن نظام التعليم الثانوي العام. ويظهر من بين تخصصات مرحلة التعليم المتوسط وفقاً لنظـام التخصص الجديد ما يطلق عليه ثانوية العلوم الاقتصادية والتـي تعنـى بإعـداد طـلاب مؤهلين للدراسة بكليات الاقتصاد، بتخصصاتها المختلفـة كالمحاسـبة والاقتصـاد وإدارة الأعمال، حيث يدرس الطالب خلال هذه المرحلة عدد من المواد الأساسية الخاصة بالعلوم الاقتصادية مثل مبادئ المحاسبة ومبادئ الاقتصاد ومبادئ الإدارة، بالإضافة لعـدد مـن المواد المتخصصة في هذا المجال. تأتي هذه الدراسة كواحدة من الدراسات التي تعنى بتقييم هذه التجربة من خـلال تقييم نتائجها، وإن كان هذا التقييم محصورا في زاوية واحدة هي تخصـص المحاسـبة، وتعد خطوة أولى في التقييم تحتاج إلى مزيد من الدراسات المكملة. ومن الفرص الجيـدة التي قد هيأت للباحثين نجاح فكرة الدراسة هو وجود طلاب دارسين في كليـة الاقتصـاد ممن درسوا قبل ذلك في ظل نظام الثانوية العامة مما يتيح إجراء المقارنة عـن طريـق اختبارات إحصائية مناسبة.

Using Information Technology (herein after “IT”) in higher education has become a usual aspect in all disciplines of education including accounting. Ahadiat (2008) suggests several examples from US business and accounting institutes which indicate this fact. For instance, business students of the Association to Advance Collegiate School of Business International, are required to use the appropriate instructional technologies amongst their learning experiences. The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) also proposes that potential accounting professionals must attain the essential skills to effectively and efficiently use technology tools. In today’s world IT for accounting education may include a fair number of tools and techniques that may differ from country to another according to many factors such as the level of education, technology, economy, etc. Using IT in higher education has been a subject of large number of studies, although a very limited number is made about Libya. This study will consider the employment of IT in order to get the Master's degree of accounting from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tripoli (herein after "FEUT").
